STDU Students Won Second Place in China Talent Contest

Recently, 34 international students from STDU attended the 9th "Jizhiguang" Chinese Language Competence and China Talent Contest for international teachers and students in Hebei province. Two shows from STDU, " New Back Home "and" Changshan Battle Drum " were respectively awarded as the second prize and the Best Momentum Award.

At the closing ceremony on 14th, April, the two shows were performed as the elite shows, with leaders from provincial Education Department and Foreign Experts Bureau watching on the spot. The magnificent "Changshan Battle Drum ", as the opening show, surprised the audience with its flying banners and roaring battle drum; the humorous and lively "New back home" not only embodied the rich Hebei features, but also absorbed the elements of modern dance, winning warm applause and cheers from the audience and putting forward the contest to a climax.

This contest was strongly supported by the departments in STDU, with Wen Yi, Wang Zongyi, Liu Shujun, Zhang Yumei, Xu Wei, Yang Xiaobo, Zhang Ning and other teachers elaborate guidance. It improved the Chinese language skills for the participants, deepened their understanding on Chinese culture, and fully showed the elegant demeanor of international students in STDU.

"Jizhiguang" Chinese Language Competence and China Talent Contest for international teachers and students are sponsored by the provincial Department of Education, hosted by Hebei Normal University, and have been held for nine sessions so far. Formerly known as "Chinese songs sung by foreigners" contest in 2002, it has been officially named as "Ji Zhiguang" since 2013. The contest is getting more and more attention from all sectors of society, and has become an excellent international exchange program for the education in Hebei province.
