On September 30, Paul German, an American teacher of Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, and Mahabub Robin, a Bangladeshi student of the university, were invited to attend the 2018 National Day Reception in Hebei Province as representatives of excellent foreign experts and international students.
Leaders from the provincial party and government authorities of Hebei have attended the 2018 National Day reception, including Wang Dongfeng, Secretary of Hebei Provincial CPC Committee, and Xu Qin, Vice-secretary of the Hebei Provincial CPC Committee and Hebei Provincial Governor. Excellent representatives from different fields, such as Science, Technology, Culture, Education, Health, Finance, Sports, etc., were invited to attend the reception.
During the reception, Song Limin, Director of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hebei Province, had a close conservation with Paul German. Mr. Song asked about international students' education and English teaching in Shijiazhuang Tiedao University and praised for Mr. Paul's contribution to Hebei education over the past years. Paul German has been a professional, humorous and friendly teacher since he came to the university in 2013. He received Yanzhao Friendship Award in 2016, which was the highest foreign-related award in Hebei.
Mahabub Robin, an international student from Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, after seven years of learning, has achieved an excellent academic performance during his undergraduate and graduate period. He assisted the school's freshmen orientation program, and picked up more than 300 new students at major stations in Hebei and Beijing. Under his influence, a volunteer team of international students has been established in TieDao University. The members are willing to assist teachers in aspects of new students' transportation, registration, insurance and residence permits. Moreover, they have helped many international students in their daily lives. Mahabub Robin has been praised by teachers and students, and earned the title of “A Foreign Follower of Lei Feng”.
