May 9th, STDU international students debate team attended "The First Chinese Debate Contest for International Students in Colleges and Universities in Hebei".  This Chinese Debate Contest is hosted by Hebei Education Department and International Communication Bureau of the CPC Hebei Provincial Party Committee, and organized by Hebei University.  The contest aims to motivate the enthusiasm of international students to learn Chinese and Chinese culture, showcase the teaching quality of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and exert the publicity of Hebei by overseas students.

During the preliminary contest, STDU debate team argued against the team from Hebei University of Economics and Business on "Men or Women, who needs more solicitude in today's society".  STDU team members performed a musical named "Men as Flowers" getting a head start, and received everyone's acclaim.  In the semifinals, STDU team argued against the team from Hebei University on "The Pros and Cons of Slack Management".  STDU team's opening performance revealed the real dormitory life, and gained audiences' applause.  Finally, STDU international students debate team won third place, and the team member SHAMBARE CHIKOMBORERO was awarded the title of "Best Debater".

This Chinese Debate Contest has not only trained participants' the practical ability of Chinese, but also enhanced the overseas students' initiative to learn Chinese and Chinese culture.  International students have fully demonstrated their good spirits, and their outstanding performances have gained high recognition from the panel of expert judges.
