Shijiazhuang Tiedao University (STDU) was established in 1950, the predecessor of Chinese People's Liberation Army Railway Engineering Institute.  The university is located in Shijiazhuang city, the capital of Heibei province. It only takes one hour by high-speed train to travel from Shijiazhuang to Beijing.  STDU is a technical university with the distinctive characteristic of applied engineering, and offers a wide range of disciplines covering science, management, economics, arts and social sciences.  It has been listed as one of the national key universities since 1979 and now it is one of the top universities in Hebei Province.

In order to attract academically excellent international students, STDU sets STDU Scholarship. The details are as follows:

1. Details of Scholarship:

The scholarship covers tuition fees, registration fees, accommodation fees, insurance fees, as well as stipend. And the specific standards are as follows:

Scholarship(RMB)

1. Eligibility
2. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2.Educational background and age limits:

(1) Bachelor's programs: hold a high school diploma or above and be under the age of 23;

(2) Master's programs: hold a bachelor's degree or above and be under the age of 27;

(3) Doctoral programs: hold a master's degree or above and be under the age of 40.

3.Grades Performance: Excellent grades, above C for bachelor degree, above B is preferred; second class level for Master and Doctoral degrees, first class level is preferred .

4.Language Requirement:

English-taught programs:  

TOEFL 68(IBT) or IELTS 5.5 or pass English test of STDU.

Chinese-taught programs: HSK 4, with a score of 180 and above.

1. Scholarships Coverage and Duration

1.Distribution of scholarships: Scholarships awardees of the new applicants(Bachelor and Master ONLY) need to first complete registration as a self-supporting new student, and pay all the fees required for study within the stipulated time. 

2.Duration of scholarships: 1 year.

The University will select the best candidates from the pool of students who have passed the review to apply for the scholarship again in the following year.

February 1 to April 27(September Intake),

October 1 to November 30(Spring Intake).

1.Applicants are expected to submit a complete set of application materials and will be held responsible for the authenticity of their documents. Incomplete or forged application materials will be rejected.

2. Applicants are expected to keep their phones on, check their email and online application account regularly as STDU's Admission Office will contact them when necessary. 

VII. Selection and Notification

Applications for the scholarships will be evaluated on a competitive basis through an open, fair and impartial process. A comprehensive review will be conducted on applicants' academic record, school performance and the class director’s comments.
