On March 25th, Philippines National Railway (PNR) and China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) delegations visited Shijiazhuang Tiedao University.  The Chairman of PNR Mr. Roberto T. Lastimoso, the former the Director General/Chief of the Philippines National Police, was accompanied by one of the outstanding graduates from STDU, the deputy general manager of CREC Liu Changyou during the visit.

The Secretary of Party Committee Wang Yuesen and Vice President Chen Jinjie welcomed Mr. Roberto and other delegates.  Relevant Deans from School of Civil Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Further Education, and International Office took part in the meeting and came to mutual agreement in terms of students/personnel cultivation and project cooperation between STDU and PNR.

Vice President Chen stated, STDU has more than 60 years teaching experience, and high level research and development capabilities in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Traffic and Transportation Engineering.  The university participated in major railway construction projects as a technical support and personnel training institute both domestically and internationally.  In the meantime, vice president Chen expressed the notion that STDU could contribute to the cause of Philippines railway development.  Mr. Roberto responded by saying Philippines railway development is in need of high caliber personnel at the early stage, such as railway construction, management, and operation departments.  Thus he expects to initiate collaboration with STDU as soon as possible.

After the meeting, the delegations from PNR and CREC visited Engineering Training Center and STDU History Museum.  Through cooperation between STDU and PNR, both sides are full of expectations and confidence to elevate the railway infrastructure in Philippines, and further enhance the friendship between China and Philippines.
